It’s been quite a week. Election madness around the world, accounting scandals, assassination plots. What’s next? The good news is the market set records this week, as both the S&P 500 and Dow hit all-time highs. Tesla (TSLA) appears to be a big winner of the election, at least in the short-term, as its stock skyrocketed ~30% this week to surpass a $1 trillion market cap.

Beyond the headlines and momentum, calendar 3Q24 earnings continue to pour in. Best of all, its stock is trading as if the company’s profits will permanently decline. On the flip side, our Danger Zone pick is a well-known retailer without competitive advantages and a consistent lack of profitability. Yet, its stock trades as if the company will achieve a miraculous turnaround and become the market leader. We don’t believe the hype.
