Changing the Names, But Not the Meaning, of Ratings

In response to feedback, we are making two changes to the names of our ratings. These changes in language have no impact on our underlying stock or ETF & mutual fund rating methodologies.

Changes:

  • We replaced “Overall” with “Risk/Reward” for all ratings.
  • We replaced “Dangerous” with “Unattractive”. Ratings now appear as follows:
    1. Very Attractive
    2. Attractive
    3. Neutral
    4. Unattractive (previously Dangerous)
    5. Very Unattractive (previously Very Dangerous)

This change will be live on our website as of Thursday, July 20.

Please see the image below for an example of our new Risk/Reward Rating names on the My Portfolio page.

The new Risk/Reward Rating names can be seen in company reports per the image below.
