Another week, another record high. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find value, as many of the best companies aren’t great stocks at current prices. However, we discovered a fund that successfully picks profitable companies with stocks that trade at valuations much lower than those in the benchmark. It is this week’s Long Idea.

On Friday we started our Best & Worst ETFs & Mutual Fund series of reports, beginning with the Sector Ratings for 4Q24. Next week we will publish the best and worst ETFs and mutual funds for each sector.

On the Model Portfolio front, we have performance updates for both our Focus List Stocks: Long and Focus List Stocks: Short Model Portfolios for 3Q24. Additionally, we updated our Focus List Stocks: Short Model Portfolio by removing a stock that has outperformed the S&P 500 as a short and is nearing $0. We also updated our Zombie Stocks List by removing six stocks. Last but not least, we featured a stock in our Dividend Growth Model Portfolio.
